I can finally reveal my mystery project! I've been working on it for ages (since around Christmas, and it's taken a long time because it was actually a scratch build, but it's done at last! As you can see below, the mystery project was a diorama of two minions squabbling, which is based off of this video here - it's one of my girlfriend's favourite videos, and it was a birthday present for her (which sort of became a leaving for uni present). I've also added the minions to the gallery, so take a look here to see how they were sculpted.
As I mentioned in my last post, I'm headed off to Manchester for uni in a few weeks, and I decided to check out the local GW store to get an idea of what it's like... and I was really impressed, there aren't many stores which have an imperator titan in the window and a scale model of Orthanc just inside!
Recently I've been working on the commodore, and I've now finished all of the sculpting and conversion. I also did a bit more work on the base, I've sanded the green stuff around the back smooth. I'm very pleased with how that turned out, and I'll be using it for display bases in the future.
Although I've recently shown some Grey Knights work in progress and some photos of my Death Korps, I've also continued sculpting the vampire's face, which is now finished! I'm very pleased with it as my first face, it's certainly been challenging to sculpt which is good (it wouldn't be fun if it was easy)! Now I've got to give her some arms and touch up a few other areas which I'm not happy with
Firstly, I'm sorry about the delay in posting, there were some technical problems and I couldn't edit the website for a few days. However, I did use the time productively, and I've been sculpting. Which leads me onto my second point, what I've been sculpting. Following on from my previous post about the vampire, I've continued sculpting the face, and it's nearly done. The pictures aren't as good as I'd like, hopefully I'll be able to get some better ones soon.
Here's a photo of my work in progress vampire, a model currently on my paint desk (unlike some models I've shown recently, which are work in progress but on hold for a short while). I bought the model over a year ago, and since then it's sat on my shelves waiting for attention. However, a recent conversation about vampires caused me to start work on her.
My name is Chris Nelson, I'm a hobbyist. I started around eight years ago with Lord of the Rings as my first system, however I prefer painting to gaming.
