Last week I got some models I've been meaning to paint for a while with some GW vouchers I've been meaning to use for a while - as you can guess from the picture, some Tempestus Scions (as well as the plastic commissar). As I was assembling the kit, I decided to see how the Tempestor Prime would look with the commissar's cap - and thus Lord High Commissar Mortello was created...
I'm now at uni and have been for a week now - that's why it's been a little time since my last post, I haven't had time to update or get much painting done either. But I can show you a little progress on the Blood Angels captain that I showed the other week, I've finished off some of the stone armour decorations and painted a bit on his leg. I think this is turning out to be my best model so far, I'm really excited about how this one's turning out. The bad news is that he won't be ready in time for Manchester GW's monthly painting competition, but I've got another model I can enter into that, the CAT.
I can finally reveal my mystery project! I've been working on it for ages (since around Christmas, and it's taken a long time because it was actually a scratch build, but it's done at last! As you can see below, the mystery project was a diorama of two minions squabbling, which is based off of this video here - it's one of my girlfriend's favourite videos, and it was a birthday present for her (which sort of became a leaving for uni present). I've also added the minions to the gallery, so take a look here to see how they were sculpted.
As I mentioned in my last post, I'm headed off to Manchester for uni in a few weeks, and I decided to check out the local GW store to get an idea of what it's like... and I was really impressed, there aren't many stores which have an imperator titan in the window and a scale model of Orthanc just inside!
My name is Chris Nelson, I'm a hobbyist. I started around eight years ago with Lord of the Rings as my first system, however I prefer painting to gaming.
