The Romans I'd ordered last week have arrived, and I've been making progress on them in between working on my Golden Demon entry (which at the time of writing is in fact finished). The first model I started working on is the general below, since he's going to be the centrepiece model, and since he's similar enough to the general from Gladiator, I'll be painting him in the same colour scheme.

I haven't done much on the legionary over the past few weeks but I've been able to basecoat the armour, so that I can get a better idea of how he should look when he's done. I should be returning to him before too long, since I need to take a bit of a break from working on Churchill and I'll have some spare time once Golden Demon's passed later this month. At the moment I pretty much only have two projects on the go, the cultist and Churchill (I have a few more that I'm going to get back to soon, like the legionary, but any more and I'd be pushing it to get them done in time). I've done some more work on Churchill, I've started working on the back wall and you can also see the railing decorations that I mentioned in the last post. I've been persevering in Churchill, as you can see below! I've now finished the railings for Downing Street, which I'm very glad to have done at last. The arch was the most difficult bit to do. Each half is made of two paperclips joined at the bottom, since I couldn't bend the paperclip in to the right shape otherwise. I've also done the side decoration which can't really be seen in this picture, so I'll get a shot of those next time. |
